Projects Expectations: Students will create a personal body of work that is based on a personal idea, belief, feeling, etc. Minimum amount of projects is six, but students are encouraged to create more. Each project is supported through research and experimentation, and includes a four sentence artist statement.
Out of the six projects:
1) three will be graphic design (Photoshop/photography/illustrator) based
2) three will be design (drawing/painting/printmaking).
Conceptual ideas can be:
1) student chosen with permission from instructor
2) taken from a list provided by instructor. Click here for list
Grading is based on:
1) Technical Quality of Work: is the work completed fully and demonstrates skill in the medium?
2) Composition is based on a concept and the student can explain this verbally.
3) Student has written a minimum of four sentences within an artist's statement, elaborating on what their work means and how the composition supports this idea.
4) Work is either graphic design or design based.
A presentation of final pieces will be conducted at the end of the semester.
